Country Fair – Factoid Number 14!
St Ewe Country Fair – 21st August 2016
Factoid Number 14
Did you know?
A sheep dog is generally a breed of dog used in connection with the raising of sheep?
Obvious you might say! But do you know how many different types there are? They usually include pastoral dogs which guard sheep and other livestock and herding dogs.
Such dogs are used in all parts of the world, from Cornwall to the Himalayas to Australia. There are at least 42 types of livestock guardian dogs and 75 herding and droving dogs – a total of 117. See how many you can list without using Google.
We’re really pleased that Norman will once again be bringing his amazing sheep dogs along to the show. They can round up anything from sheep to herds of children!
8 weeks to this year’s fair!
The St Ewe Country Fair returns after a break in 2015 and to countdown to the great event we post a new factoid here each week.
Put the date in your diary – 21 AUGUST 2016.
You can look out for these posts each week on Facebook and here on the St Ewe Parish website (www.st-ewe-parish.co.uk/news).
