Country Fair – Factoid Number 16!

St Ewe Country Fair – 21st August 2016

Factoid Number 16

Did you know?

The proper way to pronounce Scone is ‘Scon’

“No it is not” you cry. A Scone is a ‘Scone’. Well if that is not enough to cause an argument here’s another. The great Cornwall and Devon Cream Tea dispute raises it’s head regularly. Jam before cream or cream before jam, always clotted cream of course but which gets put on your scone first? Etiquette gurus Debrett’s say spread your jam first. Do you agree or disagree?

Why not have your say on our Facebook page, we look forward to hearing your opinion!

The cream teas served at the country fair are really yummy, not to mention the home made cakes and proper coffee. Come along and try them for yourself, we do not discriminate on the grounds of layering your jam and cream – honest!

6 weeks to this year’s fair!
